Mafia II is a 3rd person action adventure game that is sequel to Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven. This game has sandbox style that allows players to explore the map and do things freely. This game background is atmosphere of 1940 to 1951 and located in a fictional town that is named Empire Bay. The story begins when you are as Vito Scaletta, son of Sicilian immigrant who return home due to wounded in combat since World War II. Previously, Vito joined the USA army to avoid conscription in jail for robbery.
Vito's homecoming turned out not only welcomed by his family, but also some bad news related to her father's huge debts. While the father had died. Finally, Vito ask for help of his friend, Joe Barbaro to find a job. From this Vito will meet all kinds of characters that eventually made him as an accomplice Falcone Mafia family. Vito had to struggle against the various machinations of the three major mafia groups, namely Falcone, Vinci, and Clemente.
Mafia II storyline is a drama that is packed with slick. When combined, it took about two hours to cutscene only. Cutscene that is available not made from pre-rendered cutscenes. For example, when you drive a car that is damaged, a cutscene will appear with the same car damage. Interestingly, the emotional of each character and this game is really asking you to feel the dark side of the Mafia world.
This game still presents a wide variety of firearms, like rifles Thompson (Tommy Gun), Colt 1911, Shotgun, Beretta Model 38, and guns of World War II era. In addition to shooting scenes in every mission, you can also do battle one on one with bare hands.
The graphic fairly detail, starting from character to Empire Bay city that looks more alive with the varied activities of its inhabitants. This game also has a storyline inspired by the various gangster films, like The Godfather and Goodfellas. Equipped with music typical of its era and emotional each character, making Mafia II is like a movie.
